There are 10.8 million registered population in Fuyang，which is one of the few prefecture-level cities in China with a population of more than 10 million. With a radius of 100 kilometers, the urban cycle of Fuyang radiates an area with population totaling around 30 million. There are two undergraduate colleges, Fuyang Normal University and Fuyang Institute of Technology, as well as many higher vocational and secondary vocational colleges, with 216,000 students enrolled. In 2023, the first national service-oriented manufacturing application technology skills competition was successfully held in Fuyang.
